Ann D. Ticknor, 87 years young of Garland, Texas, passed away on 21 December 2022 after a short battle with a brain bleed and other health complications.

Ann was born on 07 June 1935 to WC and Bennie Daugherty in Dallas, Texas.  After Ann graduated from Garland High School in 1953, she studied Mathematics at TCU and graduated in 1956.

Ann knew her future husband (Hal T. Ticknor Jr.) when growing up in Garland as Hal went to school with Ann's brother Chris in the Garland school system.  Ann and Hal were married in 1956. They went on to have two (2) children, Hal Ticknor III and Jim Ticknor.

Ann worked hard raising her 2 boys over the next many years and enjoyed helping at their schools and being a Cub Scout Den Mother.  Once Hal and Jim were in their teens, she went back to school to study accounting.  She went to work for a CPA firm doing taxes and financial books for many clients in the Garland area.  Ann continued to do this type of accounting work for several different CPA firms in Garland until 2021 when, at the age of 85, she decided it was time to retire.

Ann was a God loving, church going lady all her life.  She enjoyed working at First United Methodist Church in Garland in many capacities over her 87 years on this earth. She especially enjoyed teaching Sunday school lessons in many different Sunday School Classes through the years at FUMC Garland.

Ann was predeceased in death by her dad (WC Daugherty Sr), her mom (Bennie Daugherty), her older brother (Chris Daugherty), her younger brother (John Daugherty) and her husband (Hal T. Ticknor Jr).  Ann is survived by sons Hal and Jim, grandchildren Kelsey, Jaymie, Ethan and Andrew along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Ann's family would like to acknowledge and thank all the ER and ICU staff at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas and the Hospice caregivers at AccentCare in Dallas, Texas also located in the Presbyterian Hospital facility.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in Ann's memory at 2:00 PM on Friday, 06 January 2023 at First United Methodist Church in Garland, Texas.  The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the gathering area next to the FUMC Garland sanctuary.
